Our latest branch, which was completed in 2008, tested our design team's skills to the limit. The complexity of the work made this a testing project for all those involved. The building was originally built as residential properties in the late 19th century and was then changed to office use during the early 20th century. The main problem with the renovation was how to remove all of the existing internal floors and walls without the external shell collapsing. The works were carried out by our superb construction team led by our Contracts Manager, Colin Wiltshire, who has been with the company for nearly 20 years. Building work commenced in early 2008, and in only a matter of months was completed to the highest standard. In this time, 43 steel piles were inserted to a depth of 12 metres and a total of approximately 2,800 tonnes of earth and rubble removed. The external fabric of the building, comprising natural stone, was restored to a very high standard using highly skilled local Stonemasons. The restaurant itself seats 230 guests internally and a further 50 guests on the terrace. There are 39 parking spaces with ample parking to be found on the main road after 6.00pm. It is always advisable to book a table in the evening.
